Glengarriff Pharmacy & Beauty Lounge, Glengarriff
Recently the pharmacy underwent a major shop refit and rebrand whilst remaining trading throughout in the middle of a pandemic. The success of the project comes down to the ability of each member of the team identifying their key skills and how each member collaborated effectively to the end goal. Each team member contributes to the routine and helps to humanise the exceptions in the day to day running of a community pharmacy to make the pharmacy a friendly, fun place to come to work with a focus on improving patient and other service users experience.
David Dodd Pharmacy, Greystones
Each and every day the most challenging few years this team has kept an eye out for each other, adopted to the tough COVID prevention control protocols with the knowledge that these were the right and proper procedures to follow. This team in its current form, came together to help and work together and continues to feel more like a family than a set of work colleagues. The Team managed to work through each of their own difficulties, new colleagues signed on and became core members of the group. This work environment and displays of positive attitude are reflections of the people who are now part of the pharmacy family.
Chemist Connect, Bridgend
Chemist Connect is based just 150 yards away from one of the busiest border crossings in Ireland and as a results, many of their patients and customers live or work in either the Republic of Ireland or in Northern Ireland. The team decided they had to become a borderless pharmacy; an initiative that became even more evident in its need during the pandemic. The team are highly aware of the complexities the border presents and have created robust education systems in their pharmacy to try and overcome these barriers. The team are now preparing to launch a new comprehensive health screening service which will serve both NI and ROI communities across a range of conditions including blood pressure and cholesterol.
