Adrian Dunne Pharmacy, Ashbourne
When it was announced in July 2021 that pharmacies would be involved in rolling-out Covid vaccinations, everyone set to task. The Management team at Adrian Dunne did their research and identified HasHealth as an online platform that would best suit the Adrian Dunne Pharmacy Group. By providing a new and improved website and engaging with HasHealth, the pharmacy team found patients had greater access to Covid-19 vaccines. It immediately sped up the process for the patient. They could log their consent, while also having immediate access to all the information required to make an informed decision. It also proved valuable for patients to be able to book for a time that suited them. The HSE adapted their programme, very often daily, to include the various age cohorts/medical groups. This online booking service allowed patients keep abreast of the everchanging health landscape. When Pharmavax was launched by the HSE the team found their combined booking system complimented this and the transition was seamless. Adrian Dunne Pharmacy Group hit the ground running and found themselves very quickly providing vaccination clinics with 85+ appointments available at each sitting.
CommCare Pharma Group
The merger of totalhealth and Haven Pharmacies was announced in April of last year. The fundamental rationale behind this union, collectively now operating under the CommCare Pharma brand, was to create more security for independent pharmacy members, to act strategically to foster renewed growth, and to ensure their ongoing independence and ability to complete in an ever-more competitive market. Both groups have always had shared values of the promotion of independent pharmacy, the protection
of local pharmacy identity and community approach, and the upholding of a patient-centred approach to business. In a market where non-Irish organisations continue to take ownership over Irish pharmacies, a merger that improved the strength and resilience of the members of both groups motivated the move to join forces. Since the overwhelming vote in favour of the merger, management have worked to ensure a smooth transition period, by ensuring consistent communication with both members and support office teams. Independent experts have been employed to assist in the practicalities of the consolidation process. Roles and responsibilities have been rearranged, ensuring the best and most qualified people are assigned to tasks, in order to both streamline activities and to yield the best possible outcomes for both brands
