Energia, Ireland’s greenest electricity supplier has announced that it will partner with LloydsPharmacy to provide their pharmacies and head office with 100% renewable energy.
This two-year partnership is a part of LloydsPharmacy’s commitment to reducing their carbon emissions by 2030 and is one step in their approach which has three main pillars: avoid, replace, and compensate.
Paul Reilly, Managing Director of LloydsPharmacy said: “Reducing our carbon emissions and becoming more sustainable are two key focuses for us at LloydsPharmacy. Replacing our existing energy sources with more environmentally friendly alternatives through this partnership with Energia is a small but important change that can help us work towards those goals.”
Alan Mulcahy, Head of Sales with Energia commented: “We are excited to provide 100% renewable energy to LloydsPharmacy for their locations across the country. We understand that businesses are looking for ways to become more sustainable and we are delighted to be able to offer assistance in this journey to LloydsPharmacy. We look forward to being part of their continued success in the future.”
As part of the agreement with the leading pharmacy chain in the market, Energia will also provide green electricity to the warehouses and offices of Ireland’s largest pharmaceutical distribution company, United Drug.
Renewable energy is tailor made for Irish businesses and Energia makes switching to clean, renewable energy easy. In a world tackling climate change, getting energy from clean sources shows customers, investors, employees, and the wider community that businesses are serious about commitments to sustainability, and decreasing their carbon footprint.
