Jessica Millar is a pharmacist with Grant’s Pharmacy in Arklow. For one patient in particular, she has made the world of difference in helping them take care of a very sick parent.
She says, “Jessica goes above and beyond to help me with the care of my very sick father. She always greets us and treats us with the utmost respect and always has the time to come out and talk to us and enquire about my dad when we are in our local pharmacy.
“Jessica offered to pre-pack my dad’s medication when he became very sick and his medications became more difficult. She highlighted to us in confidence that my dad was struggling with his extensive medication regime and was beginning to get confused. She has taken one of our many worries out of our hands for us. She directly deals with our local Doctors surgery for prescriptions and ensuring they have the most up to date medicines on file for him as well as explaining all the near daily changes to his medications.
“He was prescribed a particular medication which is sourced from a HSE website, “High Tech” to which we were told we wouldn’t be given any on a recent discharge and she had this sorted for us before he was discharged and all the medicines were changed and ready to go on getting my dad home. Even with day to day queries we can call or pop in in confidence to Jessica and her team, knowing that they will look after us and always greet us with their friendly faces. For such a young woman, we have endless appreciation and gratitude and will always thank her for her participation in the care of my dad.”
