McCabes Pharmacy
McCabes Pharmacy recently ran a Covid Vaccination Service in Clarehall during the Summer of 2021. On regular occasions the teams in each store work together closely to lead and bring a project together, but this project involved the collaboration of staff, from all not only all areas of the business but also pulled together people in a variety of different roles. There will never be a greater opportunity to recognize the team as a whole, working together to serve their communities in a pandemic and provide a service to aid the public health initiative of Covid-19 vaccinations.
Tully’s totalhealth Pharmacy, Castlerea
Tully’s totalHealth pharmacy provided access to services in a time when it was hard, in particular, providing patients with the necessary Covid-19 vaccinations along with the many other services they provide, such as , 24 hour blood pressure monitoring, blood screening services as well as, injection services, measuring of BMI, baby weight checks, blister packing of medication, prescription delivery service; all while adhering to public health advice. While this took an immense amount of pressure off GP’s, it also meant that when a customer or patient came in to avail of our prescription service, they could also get any of these routine checks done in the same place without needing an appointment. The team feel that the community will hold a higher opinion and regard for the profession, which in turn will lead to greater footfall.
Boots Ireland
Boots Ireland responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by rapidly implementing testing services, the foundation of the country’s fight to manage and mitigate the disease. They were the first pharmacy in Ireland to offer PCR testing in December 2020 and again the first to offer professionally administered antigen testing to facilitate travel under the EU Digital Covid Certificate scheme in July 2021. Their Covid-19 Testing Services continue to be offered in 17 pharmacies nationwide. Significant innovation was required to design, develop, implementand re-define this service over time in response to the ever-changing nature of the pandemic. The service has successfully supported Boots credibility in the health services market and further cemented their reputation as an innovator in the clinical pharmacy services arena.
