Irish Pharmacy News have announced Kildare’s John Tallon as the winner of The People’s Pharmacist 2022 in association with Panadol.
Co-ordinated by IPN Communications Ltd, The People’s Pharmacist Award seeks nominations from across the country, giving customers the opportunity to recognise and salute their local pharmacist. Over 700 nominations were received. From these nominations, eight finalists were shortlisted and put to a public vote.
With a reach of over half a million and over 10,000 actual votes – the search for the People’s Pharmacist took the nation by storm.
John is the Owner and Pharmacist at Bergins Pharmacy in Newbridge, and was presented with his award by Dave Barrett, County Manager with Haelon, Mayor Suzanne Doyle and Managing Director of IPN Communications, Natalie Maginnis.
One of John’s nomination highlights the great efforts he has made, stating, “John is a never-ending professional with a true kindness and understanding of complex medical issues. I have witnessed first-hand his dedication to the homeless and less fortunate. He is shy, non-assuming and has a true vocation to serve his community. We would be lost without him in Newbridge and the surrounding areas.”
Another one John’s many nominations shared “I am a customer of Bergin’s Pharmacy for 30 plus years and John’s care and knowledge has saved my life”.
When John was nominated, he said, “I feel incredibly honoured to be even nominated for the People’s Pharmacist Award and delighted to be shortlisted. I was pleasantly surprised to receive such a nomination and the recognition of the entire Pharmacy team at Bergin’s Pharmacy.
“We always try and give 100% to all our customers every day and that they feel that they are our priority at all times.
“I am very proud of all our team and the service they provide to each customer every day and receiving the nomination is fantastic acknowledgement of all the hard work.”
Congratulations to all Finalists and the winner.
