Marian Kennedy, the founder of Anewmum, is making significant waves in the female healthcare industry with her companies innovative approach to postpartum care and is transforming the recovery journey for new mothers. With a deep passion for female healthcare and a commitment to providing science-backed solutions, Marian and her team are dedicated to supporting new mothers and ensuring their well-being after they have given birth.
Anewmum: A Personal Journey to Innovation
Marian Kennedy’s journey into the world of postpartum care began in 2015 following the birth of her first child. She faced numerous challenges in finding safe and effective products to aid her postpartum recovery. This personal experience ignited her determination to take matters into her own hands. Marian began developing a range of hygiene and skincare products specifically designed for new mothers, addressing the physical effects of pregnancy and childbirth.
This endeavour led to the creation of Anewmum, a brand that has since become synonymous with postpartum care and support throughout Ireland.
Anewmum’s product line includes a variety of innovative solutions aimed at promoting healing, cooling, and soothing for postpartum women. Anewmums dedication to scientific research and collaboration with medical professionals has ensured that their products are both safe and effective. The company’s mission is to provide new mothers with the best possible care, by providing effective products and educating new mothers to navigate the often-challenging postpartum period.

A Commitment to Science and Support
Anewmums commitment to scientific research and evidence-based solutions has been a driving force behind the company’s success. By partnering with leading medical professionals and institutions, PPR Healthcare has ensured that Anewmum’s products are grounded in rigorous research and tested for efficacy and safety.
One of the key partnerships that has propelled Anewmum forward is its collaboration with the The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR). This partnership has been instrumental in the development and accreditation of Anewmum’s innovative solutions. Through this collaboration, Marian and her team have been able to leverage cutting-edge research and technology to create products that truly make a difference in the lives of new mothers. Their Anewmum Comfort Mist spray was tested for its wound healing properties on human dermal and epithelial cells by The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research. The results showed a greater reduction in scratch wound area in treated dermal skin cells after 24 hours and in vaginal epithelial mucosa cells at 2, 4, and 6 hours compared to non-treated cells. This mist can be used for perineal massage pre-birth, post birth to support the discomfort from stitches and also post closed caesarean section to use with scar therapy massage. This year they will undertake their third study with CABR, which will focus on Mastitis.
Recognition and Future Endeavors
Marian and her teams hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. The most recent accolade to the company was an award of a €10,000 grant from the Visa She’s Next grant programme, which recognizes her outstanding contributions to female healthcare and the potential of her business. This funding will accelerate product development, support ongoing scientific research, and help bring innovative solutions to market faster. Marian’s vision for the future of Anewmum is to continue expanding its product range and reach, ensuring that more new mothers can benefit from the company’s products. With a pipeline of products to launch in 2025, it will be an exciting year ahead.
