The 7th annual Teddy Bear Hospital will take place virtually on Friday, 30 April.
To donate and get involved in the events, participants can visit Eventbrite through this link.
Hosted by medical, physiotherapy and pharmacy students in the RCSI Paediatrics Society, the event is designed to help children from all over Ireland feel comfortable around doctors and hospitals and learn how to stay healthy through diet and exercise.
Those who register will be sent a link to a pre-recorded video, which will see their teddy bear mascot, Cara, have a really positive healthcare experience with the help of student volunteers. In a fun virtual format, the RCSI Paediatric Society will teach children about hand washing, going to the hospital, what a trip to the pharmacy might look like and many more topics.
All proceeds from the event will be in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation, who provide home care for children aged 0-5 with complex medical needs. They also provide respite services and palliative care for children under 5 regardless of their diagnosis.
In the run up to the main Teddy Bear Hospital video, the Paediatric Society has created additional fun, interactive activity videos suitable for children on their YouTube channel that families and children can do anytime at home.
